Dhaya Seva Sangam – a service organization working for the cause of rural poor, oppressed and especially the leprosy patients in Kancheepuram and Chengalpet Districts of Tamil Nadu.
At present we have 52 leprosy patients who are married and have children and 51 leprosy patients who are bachelors under our care. They live in houses provided by NGOs and Churches. But they struggle for their livelihood.
Even after nearly 65 years of Independence, there is only one graduate Mr.Murthy from these selected 8 hamlets of in Nathammedu village cluster where Dhaya Seva Sangam implements Educational Supportive Programmes for the poor rural children.
Education is the greatest asset of a human being. Dhaya Seva Sangam strives to provide these poor rural children,whom we intervene, with educational supportive programmes aiming at their overall development.
With this aim,we started Rural Study Centre at Nathammedu village,near Kalpakkam in Kancheepuram District. There are 52 school going children who study in this centre.
There is a qualified trained teacher who has produced 100% result in the venkampakkam Goverenment school who teaches these children.
Added to this teachers from Chennai city also provide classes on weekends once a month. The frequency of this support is to be increased.
